As part of the public participatory process, MRIA prepared and submitted a proposal for envisioning redevelopment in a defined sub area that will enhance the quality of life for downtown Oak Park, the surrounding neighborhoods, and the Village of Oak Park.

Goal: To seek redevelopment that is designed within the physical, social, and economic context of the time and place of our Village. As the downtown area is the commercial focal point and primary public place for the Village, we seek redevelopment that will be a gathering place for people, as well as being sensitive to our historical, cultural and architectural heritage. We seek redevelopment that preserves, protects and celebrates our unique sense of place.
